MyDi : Customizable Wireless MIDI iPad Controller
MyDi is a project I’ve started to develop a customizable audio control interface on the iPad platform using MIDI and OSC. The idea is essentially to port TouchOSC to MIDI protocol, while improving it along the way, adding live customization rather than presets. This is similar to the JazzMutant Lemur, a piece of physical hardware for customizable OSC control.

I’ve developed a working OSC test prototype that can communicate wirelessly with an OSC enabled platform. Currently development is on hold for college work and examinations and will resume in late January.
MLPSI : Project X
ProjectX was a two man prototyping/research project to develop Adobe Flash games to aid children in the learning of foreign languages.
It currently consists of a collection of mini-games which support language-learning in primary school. The games supplement class-work and consolidate what has already been learned including reading, aural comprehension and written responses. Each mini-game maps to the curriculum. The games are playable in the languages supported by the MLPSI – Italian, Spanish, German and French – but it is hoped to include Gaeilge and other languages in the near future. It is also hoped to add to the repetoire of games as part of an ongoing collaboration between the MLPSI and DIT.
I worked on this project with Brendan Marsh.

2000 And Drum : A Space Oddity
2000 And Drum @ Games Fleadh
2000 And Drum was the first game I worked on, and was the winner of the XNA Ireland Challenge 2009. It was an Asteroids “Spinoff” where the goal is to navigate your circular ship by hitting colour coded drum pads using the Guitar Hero / Rock Band controller. When you were near asteroids, you hit the shield (kick drum), to activate a short lasting shield that would kill asteroids. It has recently been ported (and improved) to Windows Phone 7 by Brendan Marsh.
