Video Game Prototype
The topic for my Final Year Project is games for the visually impaired, particularly how a person would navigate through a 3d environment with only the use of sound and haptic feedback.
Each object would have a unique sound to help identify it in this world, the idea is that im not going to be just creating a world thats identical to the real one because I dont think anyone wants that and its sort of boring.
In this world, each object would have its own unique identifying sound so that the player will know what the object is and how they would react around it. But for illustrations sake i’ve created a mini diagram to show the basic idea.
In this each object has its own unique sound shown by the different coloured circles.

2010 Games Fleadh XNA Competition
In 2010 Derek Browne, Hugh O’Higgins, Stephen O’Hara and myself entered into the Games Fleadh XNA competition as one of the 4 DIT teams to enter.

For this project we created a multiplayer Pacman capture the flag game because we had a love of multiplayer games in common.

This game is a two player game with the players beginning at each end of the field, the goal is for the player to get to the other end of the field, collect the flag and come back to the goal while avoiding the other players ghosts which they can control. This game was fun to make and having the experience of entering into a competition like this was great.

At the end of this competition we were awarded best multiplayer game and had the chance to meet with alot of people involved in the games industry.
