This page acts as a guide to the 'lingo' used on this project. If someone finds a term or acronym unclear, others probably do too. Defining what is meant by a particular term or expression can greatly reduce misunderstandings.

In the project management sense, a risk that has transpired and is currently a problem that affects the delivery of the project in terms of quality, schedule or budget. See also 'risk'
mini-game
A game of brief duration. The rules of a mini-game are very simple and quick to learn

pilot study
A small scale study of finite duration to act as a proof of concept before embarking on the real thing.
requirements gathering
the act of eliciting, organising and documenting what the system ought to do once built. This does not include deciding how to implement those features.
risk
A risk is something that can potentially happen that would affect the projects schedule, budget, or the quality of the end product. see also 'issue'
stakeholder
Any person or organisation with an interest in this project, however peripheral, be it as sponsor, academic, customer, end-user, developer, etc. Each stakeholder will have a unique perspective on what they believe their responsibilites are towards the project and what they hope to gain from it.
