Introduction
Baztris is a clone of the popular game Tetris created by Alexey Pajitnov in 1985. Baztris is coded in J2ME, using MIDP 1.0.
Gameplay
Classic Game Boy Tetris, falling tetriminos (shapes made up of 4 connected blocks) are rotated and moved to form lines at the bottom of the screen. Scoring is achieved by creating one or more lines. Like the original version, Baztris uses naïve gravity, where unsupported blocks are able to float in space.
Falling blocks can be controlled with the cursor keys, or numpad. left and right to move left and right, up to rotate, and down to drop. The numpad uses an alternate control scheme, where 7 and 9 rotate the piece left and right, 4 and 6 move the piece left and right, 8 drops the piece one block, and 5 drops it to the bottom of the screen.
